Raising awareness about youth cardiac diseases
We are constantly working to raising awareness about cardiac diseases among the young people aged 14 to 35.
About PL9
PL9 is a community interest organization founded in memory of a young man named Philip Lamin. The P represents Philip, the L for Lamin, and the 9 represents his football jersey number.
Philip was an avid football fan, devoted and passionate to the Arsenal Football Club since he was two years old. Prior to his death, Philip was scouted to play football for Fulham’s under-16 team.
How PL9 Was Founded
It was during this gathering of approximately 20 to 25 young people at his home that the idea of forming a youth group in his memory at a location where they could meet and receive grief support arose.
Our Aim & Objectives

Purchase Defibrillators
A dedicated portion of PL9 campaign is to raise funds to purchase defibrillators for placement in each secondary school.

Raise Awarness
PL9 is raising awareness of cardiac risks in children and installing defibrillators in public places such as schools, sports centers, and churches.

Heart Screening
Early heart screening as this can aid in the early detection and treatment of any heart disease.
Our Achievements & Success Stories

Raised over £46,000 to date for the installation of defibrillators.

Testimonials
“I first heard about PL9 through our church where I was invited to participate in group meetings related to community engagement. The meetings focused on projects such as Serious Youth Violence, work of the Synergy Network, the Clocktower project, Community Champions and also stop-and-search in collaboration with Bexleyheath Police.
“I am proud to call Juliet my friend – an active role model in how to live faithfully and make every moment count for good (and she has had more than her fair share of adversity).
This is the culture that she has nurtured within PL9 – a group that supports and enhances everything good within a community.
“PL9 has a proud record of very successful university graduates who are doing some great things in their various communities campaigning and raising awareness about anything that affect young people. I attended one of their community engagement meetings and came out inspired to get involved in my community. Glad to know PL9, Juliet and her boys.
